We are hiring a health, safety, environment & sustainability (HSE) specialist to become part of our HSE-team at Power Transformers in Ludvika, Sweden. In this role you will work both operationally in the production and strategically with key initiatives to improve the HSE culture within the business unit.

Your responsibilities
Coach, support and provide advice to managers and production employees on Health, Safety and Sustainability matters
Implement safety and sustainability objectives and targets
Support the effective implementation, continual improvement, and certification of ISO standards
Plan and carry out safety audits, investigate accidents and root causes and introduce corrective actions
Assist in the HSE risk management process in the unit with plant managers and production employees to support that all processes are under control
Take an active part in improvement programs and practices to ensure an exemplary HSE-culture
Engage external and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on HSE efforts and performance
Support that the equipment and tools available and used in the production meet relevant safety standards

Your background

You have prior HSE experience, preferably from a similar industry. It is an advantage if you have prior experience working with environmental or sustainability tasks
It is an advantage if you hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent, but it is not a requirement

You have a pro-active mindset to self-initiate actions and take decisions.
You have good communication and influencing skills to address and build trust within the organization

HVDC is a business unit within the Hitachi Energy. HVDC unit (High Voltage Direct Current), with headquarters in Ludvika – develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. Your responsibilities
As a Category Manager, you are responsible for developing and executing Category Strategies on short and long terms that align with the HVDC Business Strategies.
You will develop our Supplier base within your Categories with focus on total cost, quality, lead time and capacity to support our factories around the world.
We work towards our Production plants so you will also be responsible to secure material procurement.
You will work together with a team of category managers, operational buyers, transport managers, logistic planners, supplier quality engineers and others to drive and ensure that the goods and material are procured, produced and delivered on budget, on time and with quality to our production and project sites worldwide.
You will have a key role interacting with stakeholders in tender, production and project execution, i.e., Engineering, R&D, service, tender management, project management, general management levels at HVDC and the global SCM organization.

Have an academic degree in a relevant field: Engineering, Business & Administration, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience in Category management or/and as a strategical buyer for at least 2-5 years.
Genuinely interested in technical components and systems.
For this role it requires that you are unpretentious for the job requires that you need to do everything from strategies work to material follow-up to working with your material in our ERP system.
You are a team player with strong communicative and collaborative skills who likes to interact with other people.
You are used to a multicultural and challenging global business environment and can handle several tasks in parallel.

Lead the global team of HVDC Project Engineering Managers (PEM)
Develop the PEM role, responsibilities, competencies and career path
Manage, balance and review the Engineering global project portfolio with respect to scope, time and cost from tender to EPC delivery and handover to customer and warranty
Develop an efficient reporting structure from Engineering and Product sub-project managers to full engineering scope
Manage and develop HVDC cost analysis and cost estimate tool

Your background
You have at least 10 years of experience of HVDC technology and EPC projects
Preferably you have worked with different parts of the HVDC engineering delivery chain (production, product management, system design, testing, procurement and commissioning)
5-10 years' experience of people development
University degree (MSc) in engineering
Experience of commercial drivers, terms and conditions in EPC projects
Fluency in English is required whereas Swedish and other languages are considered as a merit

Study and verify the overvoltage protection scheme through simulations in PSCAD/EMTDC. Including specifying fault scenarios to be investigated for the project and simulate the overvoltage’s that will be input for equipment specifications and mechanical layout.
Handle the interface with other interfacing departments. Ensuring you understand their needs, and they yours, and to work for a good corporation for best end results together.

The installed base manager has a vital role in HVDC Service Strategy and is crucial in accelerating pursuits of business opportunities, tendering and efficient execution of the Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) development and execution.
The installed base manager’s responsibilities include the following:
Your responsibilities
Ensure that all the plant documentation needed for pursuing the service offers of LTSA, upgrade or other opportunities of for HVDC stations are suffucent.
Ensure that all the essential data for all the equipment of all the existing converter stations installed around the world is collected from internal and external OEM/suppliers and stored in a structured form in the company databases so that it can be easily accessed and analyzed in the form of reports for a variety of purposes.
Contribute to an efficient process in collaboration with PG2215 and PG2222 project management to ensure that the as-built data for the projects under execution are transferred to the database at handover of the project from execution to warranty.
Ensure that the Life Cycle (LC) information of all the equipment is collected from the responsible OEM/Suppliers/departments and stored in the database.
Analyze the IB data for different purposes (e.g., pursuing opportunities, informing customers about different phases of the equipment) and produce different types of reports (e.g., prognosis on opportunities and LCM reports.
Support LTSA projects executions in Asset Management Systems (AMS)

In this role you will monitor and maintain the HVDC documentation processes and be a senior support to the project resources regarding documentation processes and the documentation delivery to customers. Work pro-actively with documentation process adherence and quality in projects, with focus on training and communication to interfacing functions and the documentation delivery from our internal suppliers to meet the project milestones in our projects. You will join a team of four experienced Sr doc process specialists.
Your responsibilities
Senior support to HVDC project resources regarding documentation processes and the documentation delivery to customers
Governance of the HVDC documentation processes
Implement and maintain documentation management processes at HVDC Globally
Understand the organization’s vision and demands and suggest improvements where you see them
Perform documentation process assessments. Follow up and report process adherence within the company
Provide training, coaching and support to individuals and teams for better knowledge and understanding of the documentation process and the documentation system
Ensure that documentation process charts, instructions, base and standards are updated
Implement, support and follow-up documentation processes within own department
Be updated on ISO/IEC standards and prepare activities connected to that - assessments, audits, instruction update etc
Prepare and participate in quality audits i.e. ISO standards etc

Vast experience of project/and or tender management of complex large-scale projects and large-scale system sales and tendering.

Technical and commercial experience of HVDC systems or similar, is an advantage as you will be working with HVDC.

Your responsibilities
Support the procurement teams in close collaboration with pragmatic and business-oriented approach.
Ensure that, for your assigned portfolio of specific project(s) (whether in back-office or at the site), all requests for quotation packages and the subsequent signed subcontracts do follow contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with the applicable procedures.
Provide guidance and leadership on contract related matters to cross¬ functional business team members.
Support procurement teams in setting up and negotiating agreement/frame agreement with key subcontractors and suppliers.
In collaboration with the procurement teams, develop subcontract strategy based on Power Grid Hitachi’s policies, customer requirements, feedback and lessons learned, and drive this strategy side by side the project management team during the execution.
Identify the clients’ contract baseline (including main terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, budget estimate, time schedule), and highlights areas of opportunities and potential risk.
Flow down the main contract baseline to the assigned subcontract packages and draft all relevant documents (special terms and conditions, scope of work, time schedule, bill of quantities, payment terms, securities, document templates etc.), making sure to apply the developed subcontract strategy.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects in portfolio of contracts / subcontracts (i.e. notifications, payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, provisions, guarantees, etc.).
Manage the subcontract end of life period and ensure that all parties to the subcontract have fulfilled their contractual obligations and there are no responsibilities outstanding.
Support and align with Power Grids Hitachi Legal in handling formal dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration proceedings.
Seek advice from Power Grids Hitachi Legal function to draft, negotiate and finalize subcontract/supply agreements during the Sales and Project Execution phases, in accordance with the applicable processes and guidelines.
Seek to improve processes and document templates.
Identify “lessons learned” and ensure communication to the projects team for current and future tenders and projects.

Your background
Fluently capable to communicate and negotiate in English. Any further language is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Economics or Law is desirable.
Proven work experience, ideally in EPC power generation, substations, converter stations, grid integration, transmission or similar industrial plant Contract Management and Subcontract Management functions (with emphasis on civil and electrical installations desired), processes and management/administration of varying sizes and types of contractual agreements.
Solid experience in change management, claim management and contract-related legal issues and the possible effects in the relevant areas of responsibility regarding proposal stage and/or project execution.

In this role you will be responsible for planning and managing HVDC project installation site works (high voltage equipment, cables and cable ways, auxiliary power, control cubicles).
You should be available for site assignment typically between 4 and 12 months at a time depending on project.

As a Site Manager you will lead all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases.

Assume ownership of the construction site, of the site activities, the management of the site personnel and the delivery of the contractual requirements.

You will work with processes and material for Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) and surge arresters
Lead R&D project or work-package, with structured and target-oriented working style
Build experimental set-ups, conduct tests in pilot plant and analyze test results, possibly including physical modelling
Work with a global R&D team ensuring a knowledge sharing, timely and high-quality deliverables
Close collaboration with our Power Grids Research organization and with academia

Next generations of HVDC technology & growing digitalization require more performance, better connectivity and scalability from control systems, as a part of Architect team you are going to be involved in MACH platform strategy definition (both HW and SW) within the Embedded Software domain. Your responsibilities
Work in a team of cross functional MACH system architects with the goal of creating and maintaining the technical roadmap for the platform within the Embedded Software domain as well as documenting and maintaining the platform architecture.
Evaluate conceptual R&D initiatives, business needs and technology advancements, to ensure that the MACH platform is continuously improving, meets customer requirements and is aligned with business goals.
Support our customers, both internal and external, to collect needs and expectations within your domain and you will be given the opportunity to increase your network beyond MACH platform.
Analyse, influence technology selections and prepare work packages for other teams to implement. This will include detailing technical concepts, requirements and producing architectural models.
Assist other teams and the business by supplying technical expertise and by keeping up to date with developments, standards and technical advancements within your domain of expertise and apply this into the business where applicable.

Epic Owner for MACH Control and Protection platform (Valves, MACH SW and HW)
Work completely or partially in a SAFe framework
Coordinate cross-functional EPICs (agile term; similar to projects) in close collaboration with Stakeholders, Product Owners, Teams and Line management
Involved in pre-study, design and development of cutting-edge technologies that enable the current and next generation of modular advanced control for HVDC (MACH)
Drive business development initiatives together with product management

Your background
You hold a university degree or tertiary education in a technical field
